Counter List

Requires access right Maintenance > Components > Component Counter > Counter List Updates

The Counter List allows the checking and reporting of current counter values for all components having an independent counter and having the option "show in counter list" enabled. The Counter List also shows all counters that will be imported via an existing counter interface.

Reporting New Counter Values

Reporting a new counter value is simply done by choosing the related component in the list and entering the new counter value. You can repeat this step for each component you want to update. The new values will be saved to the database after clicking the button Save.

Managing the Average Running Time (ART - see glossary)

After entering a new counter value, the system will automatically calculate the average running time per day, depending on previously reported counter value changes. In most cases you won't need to touch the calculated values. In case you have an untypical mode of operation of an component that is not properly reflected in the shown ART value, you may overwrite the calculated value with your own data.

Limitations

New counter values that are lower than previously reported counter values will not be accepted. If such an adjustment is really necessary, use the function Adjust/Reset Counter instead (see Component Counters).

ART values greater than 24 will not be accepted as the average running time describes the average running time per day.

Using Counter Interface

If there is an interface available for retrieving current counter values from an external system (e.g. automation system or external counter interface), the affected components will have a check mark in column Interface and will show a reference ID to the related counter in column Interface ID (e.g. counter values received from a Honeywell IAS system will be shown as "IAS-counter address"). The counter values received via the interface will automatically be put in column New Counter - but you may still overwrite these values if necessary.

If there has been an error detected while retrieving the counter values, the status column will show a red light. The counter value might not be available at all, might be lower than the already reported value or the resulting new ART would exceed the maximum of 24 hours. In this case the new counter value must be entered manually.
