Importing from Excel

With a right-click on a stock location, the shown pop-up menu provides an option for importing article data from an Excel file.

Pre-Requisites

Compared to previous versions it is no longer required to have a matching version of Microsoft Office or Microsoft Data Access drivers installed on the same PC where you want to import the data. The import feature has no longer any dependencies on any external software.

The import feature expects the Excel file to be in a defined format. A template for the Excel file to be used can be downloaded from https://downloads.zeeborn.net/ImportTemplate.xlsx. Data to be imported into the stock control database are to be added to the "Spare Parts" sheet.

Importing Stock Data

The import of stock data is done per location. Choose the stock location you want to import the article data into and right-click on the location's name for accessing the pop-up menu. In the pop-up menu you'll find the function Import from Excel Template. The system will ask you for the Excel file to be imported. If the structure of the selected Excel file matches the required structure, all data from the Excel file will be imported to the currently selected location.

Updating Stock Data

For updating stock data by using the Excel template file (function Update from Excel Template), it's required to use the Internal No. value of the stock articles. Only stock items with a matching Internal No. will be updated with the data found in the Excel file.
