Risk Assessment

After starting the development of the new Risk Assessment module and presenting it already on our demo servers, the new module has now reached a level of quality and stability that allows us to include the new module into the next ZeeBORN update.

With the update of the ISM code on the 01st of July 2010 operational risk assessment became a mandatory part of the code and all operators had to comply. Although most operators – especially in the tanker industry – followed that best industry practice well before this update of the ISM code came into force, many were struggling with the administrative handling of issues like review schedule, objective evidence for review or distribution of conducted risk assessments in an effective manner. The handling of risk assessment management is from ZeeBORN’s perspective an integral part of a complete Management Information System (MIS) and consequently we have developed an additional tool – in close co-ordination with one of our customers based on a major IACS class guidance on risk assessment – in our system to cover this area.

The new module will be released by the end of this year together with the next update of the ZeeBORN Maritime Fleet Management System. All customers who have participated in developing and testing the new Risk Assessment module will receive the license and future updates for free. A demo is already available on our demo server.
