This error can be shown after using the Search function for finding a component, selecting one of the search result and clicking the Go To button for navigating to the selected component.

Reason

For showing the selected component in the tree view, the search function needs to follow the hierarchy of the components. This starts with the selected component and continues with the related parent component until the topmost entry in the tree (the site) is reached.

In case of an error the search function arrived at a stage where the parent component the current component is pointing to, does not exist.

Solution

Please write down the information shown in the error message (component ID and parent ID) and request a database cleanup from your system administrator or from support.
