The Reset Counter function is used for correcting wrong counter values in the system - especially if the correct counter value is less than the counter value already entered into the system. As features like the Counter List do not allow the input of a counter value that is less than the previously reported counter value the Reset Counter allows the input of the correct value and will also update all existing maintenance jobs execution and due date for reflecting the change.
The maintenance job update is done by calculating the average running time of the component resulting from the new counter value and the due dates of the maintenance jobs will be set accordingly.
Please note: Using the Reset Counter feature will affect the selected component and all sub-components without an own counter. If the Reset Counter feature will be used on a component without an own counter, the counter value update will be distributed to all sub-components but also up the next component in the hierarchy with an own counter.
