Managing The Library

The library with its single library sections is the main structure for managing documents in the system. For each section you can decide

 

which site/ship will have access to the documents of this section (see Assigning Documents To Sites for more)

if the documents of a section will be managed by using advanced document management features (controlled documents) or if these documents will be just made available to other sites without further version control

 

Use the button New to create a new section in a library. The currently selected section will be used as the parent section. While creating a section you will need to enter a name for the section and you will also have to decide if this section will be used for managing controlled or uncontrolled documents.

 

Special Handling of Imported QDMS Documents

 

If your document library has been created by importing data from AVECS QDMS/Interschalt QDMS, the first level of the library tree will be considered being the folders in your library and the second level being the chapters within those folders.
