cc is used as an abbreviation for "carbon copy" in e-mail programs. Beside the recipients address given in the "to" section of an e-mail message you can add further e-mail addresses in the "cc" section. Using "to" and "cc" properly helps the recipients of such e-mail to determine if he got the e-mail directly (a reply might be necessary) or if he just got the e-mail in copy ("cc") for being informed about an ongoing conversation.
