Glossary > Free Line Item

The term Free Line Item is used in the Purchasing module for line items that do not have a relation to any other entries in the system. Usually a line item relates to an article in Stock Control, a maintenance job in the Maintenance module as part of a service order or a machinery component in the Maintenance module.

Free line items do not produce any tracking information in the system that could be used for consumption statistics and similar reports.
