Please note: the client installation requires Administrator access to the client PC
The client installation will be used on client PCs that are connected to a central database that has been prepared by using the server installation.
In most cases you just need to start the setup program, confirm the suggested settings and let the setup install all the required components. The setup program for the client installation has been made available on the server during the server setup. The setup program (setup.exe) can usually be found at \\server\ZeeBORNData\install (where server is the name of your server, and ZeeBORNData the name of the network share name used for enabling the access to the database folder on the server).
This type of installation will only install components needed for using the database on the central server. A permanent network connection to this server is required for using the single modules of the system.
For laptops that will be used temporarily without being connected to the server you will need to run the server installation and you will also need to setup the Database Replication module for synchronizing the offline copy of the database with the database in the head office.
Automatic Client Installation
An automatic installation of the client software can be initiated by calling the setup program with adding the /AUTO parameter to the command line.
Some of our customers use this feature in the clients login script for installing the client software and also for checking for updates. Having this command in the login script will automatically check if the newest version is installed or will update an newer version after the server was updated.
